Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What colours do you offer?

Your colour choice is almost unlimited and we can do things with concrete that seems impossible! Once committed to a concrete bench, you can be provided with a concrete colour sample showing you the colour you have chosen, not just showing you a colour chart. However, the final concrete colour can sometimes have a slight change, influenced by factors such as the temperature, humidity and variations in the products used.

What we do different.

We can make it up to 5m long without a join. We can create a custom drain board with curves or straight. Make matching back splash to sit behind your cooktop.

One of the most unique products we offer is the custom stone edge and colour look. Looks and feels like stone, but with the versatility of concrete.

What colours do you offer?

We don’t limit the colours, we make our colours custom to the order.

Samples can be made prior to the final production.

How long will it take to make?

Approximately 3 weeks from the time we receive your deposit.

How much will it cost?

We don’t have a set cost per square metre, the degree of difficulty and complexity of each job will decide the final price.

How heavy is it?

Being concrete, it’s a lot lighter than you think, and the final weight will depend on the thickness and size you want.

Will it stain?

Our mix design allows us to produce a much denser concrete which is then sealed which impregnates and chemically alters the concrete to create a hardened crystal-like surface.  This makes our tops highly stain resistant with a high resistance to etching from acidic products such as wine and lemon juice. Our sealer is considered one of the best in the world.

Will it crack if I drop something on it?

It’s very unlikely – the density of our concrete makes it highly crack resistant and as it ages, it becomes even more so. The concrete may chip but it is something that can be fixed quite easily.

Can I put hot pots straight onto the surface?

No, this may create micro cracks but unlikely. If you put pots on it, it may need to be resealed which is a very simple process.

We recommend some sort of mat between the bench and the pot.  Or you could have stainless steel trivets permanently inlaid into the surface when the bench is made!

Do you charge extra for installation?

Yes, but it will depend on the size and location of the job, sometimes we use an indoor gantry crane as some large benches can get to 300+kg .

How do I care for my bench top?

Although all our tops are sealed which make them highly stain resistant, we recommend that all spills are wiped up as soon as they occur, especially in the first 4-6 weeks following installation. We will supply a cleaning product for you to use after install.  Bench tops can be wiped down with any eco-friendly products – definitely NO products containing bleach or caustic substances.
